    • We attribute this to the presence of a PDI derivative impurity in spite of repetitive efforts to purify dyads by preparative HPLC. Indeed, taking into account both the relative emission intensity and amplitudes of the long-lived components, the amounts could be estimated to be 0.003 to 0.015, implying 99.997 and 99.985% purity, of the dyads. A second hypothesis considers that this long-lived component could be also due to a non-active conformation of the dyad
