PKCβ modulates antigen receptor signaling via regulation of Btk membrane localization
-
Kang, S. W. et al. PKCβ modulates antigen receptor signaling via regulation of Btk membrane localization. EMBO J. 20, 5692-5702 (2001). This study describes the identification of Ser180, a Pkcβ target, in a short linker within the TH domain of Btk. Mutation of this phosphorylation site led to enhanced tyrosine phosphorylation and membrane association of Btk. This result led the authors to propose that Pkcβ, once activated by the Btk-Plcγ2 pathway, acts as a feedback-loop inhibitor of Btk activation.
