    • Recent results of Azulay et al. [39] on PX CdS illustrate this point. Because the bandgap of CdS is larger than the AFM laser photon energy (-2.4 eV versus 1.85 eV). no photocurrent is induced in CdS by the AFM laser, but only by suprabandgap external illumination. In this case, the GB bandgap is smaller than that of the bulk, and, as a result, the GBs can be excited selectively.
