    • On judging the synthetic strategies, one should also consider the ease of purification (not discussed in this Microreview), because a number of the reported dendrimers could only be obtained in pure form after repetitive preparative SEC (size exclusion chromatography) or HPLC, techniques that might not be available to all and that limit the amount of material that can efficiently be prepared.
