Toll-like receptor 7 and TLR9 dictate autoantibody specificity and have opposing inflammatory and regulatory roles in a murine model of lupus
-
This study shows that TLR7 and TLR9 have quite different roles in murine models of lupus. TLR7 has an inflammatory role since TLR7-deficient lupus-prone mice have ameliorated disease. By contrast, TLR9 has a regulatory function and is protective.
