    • The authors of ref. 90 investigated the nature of the PI-Pd catalyst using the three-phase test and conclude that the catalysts are truly heterogeneous. However, the method described by Davies et al. (ref. 35) demonstrates that a solution phase reaction must be performed simultaneously with the heterogeneous reaction. Unfortunately, the authors of ref. 90 did not do this and therefore no conclusion can be made about the nature of the catalytically active species.
