    • The contact angles of liquids with the poly(styrene) and poly-(ferrocenylsilane) surfaces were approximately 90° for water, 55° for diiodomethane, and 78° glycerol. Using the acid-base interaction theory (van Oss, C. J.; Ju, L.; Chaudhury, M. K.; Good, R. J. J. Colloid Interface Sci. 1989, 128, 313), this resulted in a surface energy α = 33 mN/m.
