The remnant measurement is made by sweeping a "write" voltage from zero to positive bias, to negative bias, then back to zero. Between each write voltage step, a "read" measurement is made at a low (non-perturbing) bias. The write voltage is then plotted against the read current The write voltage for this device was swept from zero to +2.3 V to -2 V, then back to zero in 100 mV steps. The device was read at +0.25 V, well below the threshold for turning the device on
