Reducing the fitness cost of antibiotic resistance by amplification of initiator tRNA genes
-
This work describes the selection of intergenic and intragenic suppressors of fitness defects associated with PDF bypass mutants that are resistant to actinonin. This discovery suggests that the fitness cost associated with bypass of PDF could be overcome in an infected patient.
