    • Specific recruitment of regulatory T cells in ovarian carcinoma fosters immune privilege and predicts reduced survival
    • + Tregs in 104 individuals with ovarian cancer. Their data demonstrated an increased frequency of Tregs that infiltrate tumor tissue, and that increased frequencies of Tregs correlate with stage of disease and are predictive of poor survival. Moreover, CCL22 produced by tumor cells and tumor-associated macrophages was shown to be chemotactic for Tregs.

Debey Reduced frequencies and suppressive function of CD4+CD25hi regulatory T cells in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia after therapy with fludarabine Blood 106 2005 2018 2025 This study provides evidence that some pharmacological agents might selectively affect Tregs and be used to inhibit Treg activity in cancer patients. The frequency of Tregs is shown to increase in patients with B cell CLL with increasing stage of disease. Patients receiving the chemotherapeutic agent fludarabine have reduced frequencies of Tregs and Treg activity, in part due to preferential apoptosis of Tregs.
