    • 52 Morral N, O'Neal W, Rice K, Leland M, Kaplan J, Piedra PA, et al. Administration of helper-dependent adenoviral vectors and sequential delivery of different vector serotype for long-term liver-directed gene transfer in baboons. Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A 1999; 96:12816-12821. This is the first report of HD-Ad vector administration into non-human primates. Sequential administration of first-generation adenovirus vectors of serotypes 2 and 5 was also investigated. This report demonstrates that long-term expression of transgenes at therapeutically effective levels can be accomplished by taking advantage of the reduced immunogenicity and toxicity of HD-Ad vectors and the possibility of the sequential delivery of vectors of different serotypes.
