The results show that, by interfering with the inhibitory enzymatic activities of myeloid cells, orally administered NO-releasing aspirin normalizes the immune status of tumour-bearing hosts, increases the number and function of tumour-antigen-specific T cells, and increases the preventive and therapeutic effectiveness of the antitumour immunity elicited by immunization with tumour antigens.
