    • This work, together with that described in [15], provides convincing experimental evidence for the 'trans-dominant inhibition' of integrin function, whereby binding of one integrin may inhibit the function of other target integrins. This form of crosstalk between integrins might explain why anti-integrin blocking reagents can sometimes bring about broader effects than expected and lead to potential overestimation of the biologic role of individual integrins.
