    • We do not fully understand the steady decrease in activity over several cycles. We note that the entire assay shown in Figure 1 requires more than 12 h to complete and that substantial amounts of CB[7]·8 accumulate over the various steps. From control experiments we know that some enzymatic activity (~15%) is lost over this time frame and suspect that the remaining 25% may be due to the presence of CB[7]·8
