The BRC repeats of BRCA2 modulate the DNA-binding selectivity of RAD51
-
Single-molecule imaging was used to the study the effects of the BRC repeats from BRCA2 protein on Rad51 nucleoprotein filament assembly and disassembly. The BRC repeats were shown to enforce DNA binding selectivity by slowing nucleation of Rad51 onto dsDNA and stabilizing the filament formed on ssDNA.
