Using the potentials for Ge and H from Refs., we fit the coupling constant χH-Ge to the ab initio binding energy and bond length of Ge-H reported in Q. S. Li, R. H. Lü, Y. Xie, and H. F. Schaefer, J. Comput. Chem. 23, 1642 (2002). We have found the closest agreement with the ab initio parameters for χH-Ge =0.76.
