On the methanol-adsorbed surface at room temperature, majority of methanol exists as deprotonated species ( CH3 O+H ) (Ref.). In the estimation of the methanol coverage, thus, we assumed that all species are deprotonated. On the other hand, around a half of adsorbed water is found to be dissociated and the other remains molecularly on the water-dosed surface [, 10.1103/PhysRevLett. 95.136101. The water coverage was calculated with this dissociation- nondissociation ratio.
