The maximum surface coverages obtained with chromophores bound through flexible bridges were similar to those observed for the Ru-polypyridine complexes [16b]. The same was observed for tripodal linkers substituted with Ru-bpy complexes [38], possibly because the cross-section of such chromophore has the same size as the tripodal footprint.
