    • In this manuscript, a role of Cps35, a component of COMPASS, in translating histone H2B monoubiquitination crosstalk was demonstrated. Cps35 interacts with chromatin in a monoubiquitination-dependent manner. Association of COMPASS with Cps35 on chromatin results in the assembly of a trimethylation-competent COMPASS, and therefore, H3K4 trimethylation on chromatin.

    • Recognition of trimethylated histone H3 lysine 4 facilitates the recruitment of transcription postinitiation factors and pre-mRNA splicing
    • In this manuscript, the affinity purification via H3K4me3 as bait has resulted in the identification of CHD1 and its interacting proteins, including the components of the spliceosome as an H3K4 trimethyl-specific binding complex. The study in this manuscript suggests that H3K4 trimethylation could facilitate pre-mRNA maturation via the bridging of the spliceosomal components and CHD1 to actively transcribed genes.

    • RAG2 PHD finger couples histone H3 lysine 4 trimethylation with V(D)J recombination
    • In this manuscript, it was demonstrated that the Recombination Activating Gene (RAG) 2 interacts with H3K4me3 via its PHD domain. Mutations that perturb RAG2's interaction with trimethylated H3K4 result in a severe impairment of V(D)J recombination. This study is the first link between H3K4 methylation and recombination.
