Human poly(ADP-ribose) glycohydrolase is expressed in alternative splice variants yielding isoforms that localize to different cell compartments
-

Jacobson Human poly(ADP-ribose) glycohydrolase is expressed in alternative splice variants yielding isoforms that localize to different cell compartments Exp Cell Res 297 2004 521 532 PARG alternative splice variants are investigated in this study. The localization of PARG splice variants and the cellular distribution of PARG activity have been characterized. The unsettled subcellular localization of PARG observed in various reports is now explained by the nuclear and cytoplasmic localization of endogenous PARG isoforms.

It shows that pADPr accumulation is embryonically lethal and that PARG deficiency causes enhanced cell death after genotoxic stress.
