    • Local expression of TNFα in neonatal NOD mice promotes diabetes by enhancing presentation of islet antigens
    • This paper demonstrates that the expression of TNF-α in the islets of neonatal NOD mice accelerates diabetes progression. In part, this rapid progression to diabetes was related to the inflammatory environment recruiting DCs to neonatal islets and promoting DC activation in situ. These activated DCs bore islet-peptide complexes and were highly potent at stimulating anti-islet T cell responses
