of special interest. Interesting evidence that intranasal exposure to virus leads to long-term memory in the mesenteric and iliac LNs but only short-term memory in the spleen. The authors consider it unlikely that this compartmentalization of memory cells reflects local persistence of antigen. Instead, they prefer the idea that the progeny of T cells primed in mucosal tissues initially disseminate throughout all lymphoid tissues but then show a propensity to return to the site of priming.
