    • In this large multicenter prospective study, the authors examined cortisol levels at baseline and relationship between cortisol and symptom severity, as well the relationship between cortisol and conversion to psychosis. The results indicate increased baseline cortisol that correlate with increased symptom severity and indicate increased conversion risk. This study supports the emerging hypothesis regarding impaired hypothalamic-pituitary function psychosis and has important treatment implications
