    • In these experiments, the authors induce indirect bandgap in CdSe Ncs using external compressive strain and conclude that in such compressively-strained Ncs direct band-structure cannot be achieved even for sizes as small as 2 nm in diameter. However, the additional effect of the applied strain on the band-structure dispersion is not discussed, even though band-structure is well-known to be sensitive to deformation.
