These findings suggest that augmented levels of proinflammatory transcription factors, such as NF-κB and IRF1, during neuroinflammation may be responsible for enhanced ERVK transcription in a variety of neurodegenerative conditions

Their results suggest that antipsychotic medication may contribute to increased expression of select ERV groups in patients with neuropsychiatric diseases
