    • As shown in Figure 1 of our prior publication: MacLean, K. Nano Lett. 2011, 11, 30 when a voltage is applied to the gold electrodes in the absence of a film of amorphous germanium, we observe a discrete shift in the conductance of the MOSFET over a time scale that is much shorter than the charge transient. This indicates that the gold electrodes are capacitively coupled to the MOSFET but do not interfere with our measurement.
