    • Pyridine is added to the reaction mixture because, during examinination of stoichiometric reductive elimination from dinuclear Pd(III) complexes (ref 17), we discovered that a nitrogenous ligand can participate in reductive elimination from dinuclear Pd(III) complexes. Excess nitrogenous ligand is present during catalysis, and thus, the addition of pyridine mimics conditions under which catalysis proceeds
