    • Geographic variation in algal partners of Cladonia subtenuis (Cladoniaceae) highlights the dynamic nature of the lichen symbiosis
    • Brian Coppins is a senior lichen taxonomist at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RGBE) with expertise in the systematics of lichens from north-west Europe. He has global expertise in the difficult genus Micarea. Much of his recent work has been concerned with developing conservation strategy to protect lichen diversity in the UK. Chris Ellis is an ecologist at RBGE. His primary focus is community ecology, specializing in the study of lichens. His research aims to improve lichen conservation through a better understanding of species and community response to habitat dynamics, addressing factors from local habitat loss to global climate change. Rebecca Yahr has broad interests in lichenology, including tropical biodiversity, phylogenetics, and the evolutionary and ecological framework of the lichen symbiosis. She is currently working on a project funded by The Leverhulme Trust to quantify historical levels of epiphyte diversity in the pre-industrial landscape.
