    • Gene silencing mechanisms mediated by Aubergine piRNA complexes in Drosophila male gonad
    • This study is the first to show that Aub in testes functions in Stellate gene silencing by destroying the transcripts through association with piRNAs originated from Su(Ste) genes. In addition, an abundant class of Aub-associated piRNAs showed strong complementarity to vasa transcripts, and immunopurified Aub-piRNA complex from testes displayed cleavage activity targeting RNA containing sequences complementary to vasa transcripts.
