    • Crystal structure of a rhomboid family intramembrane protease
    • This is the first report of a crystal structure for any intramembrane protease. Besides showing the overall structure of the protease, it demonstrates that the active site is below membrane surface, and contains water. It confirms early hypothesis that rhomboid uses a Ser-His dyad for catalysis.
