Regulation of phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE4) expression in mouse brain by repeated antidepressant treatment: Comparison with rolipram
-
This paper suggests that the PDE4D subtype might be of particular importance as an antidepressant target. It is regulated by repeated treatment with both norepinephrine and serotonin reuptake inhibitors, as well as by the PDE4 inhibitor rolipram. These drugs produce antidepressant effects via different mechanisms.

DISC1 and PDE4B are interacting genetic factors in schizophrenia that regulate cAMP signaling
-
The DISC1 gene is a candidate susceptibility factor for schizophrenia. This paper demonstrates that PDE4B and DISC1 are interacting genetic factors in schizophrenia that regulate cAMP signaling, thus underlining the importance of PDE families in brain function.
