To gain a deeper insight into the coordination behavior of this type of ligands, we performed ab initio Mulliken population analysis on ligand L11. The calculation results of L11 show that the energies of three possible conformations of L11 in either gas or benzene solution are almost identical. Thus, these three conformations, I, II, and III, could be concomitant in gas or benzene solution.
