Attempts to apply the acylation procedure to the coupling of benzoyl chlorides and tetraalkylstannanes were not successful. Employing 4-cyanobenzoyl chloride 9 and tetrabutylstannane or tetramethylstannane in the PXPd-catalyzed coupling reaction did not result in the formation of the corresponding arylalkyl ketones and all starting materials were recovered.
