    • 3 (148.2 g, 0.454 mol), the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 30 min vigorously. After 3-bromopropionate (51.6 g, 0.308 mol) was added to the mixture, reaction mixture was heated to 80°C. After stirred at 80°C for 24 h, reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature and diluted with EtOAc. The mixture was filtered through a pad of Celite, the filtrate was washed with water and brine. The aqueous layer was back extracted with ethyl acetate. Combined organic layer was dried over sodium sulfate and concentrated under reduced pressure. Recrystallization from chloroform and hexanes gave 8B (17 g, 38.7% yield)
