    • Dictyostelium EB1 is a genuine centrosomal component required for proper spindle formation
    • Rehberg M, Graf R: Dictyostelium EB1 is a genuine centrosomal component required for proper spindle formation. Mol Biol Cell 2002, 13:2301-2310. Characterisation of the Dictyostelium homologue of the microtubule-binding protein EB1. A GFP-DdEB1 fusion protein shows localisation to microtubule ends and centrosomes. Deletion mutants are retarded in prometaphase owing to a defect in spindle formation.

    • Adenylyl cyclase localization regulates streaming during chemotaxis
    • Kriebel PW, Barr VA, Parent CA: Adenylyl cyclase localization regulates streaming during chemotaxis. Cell 2003, 112:549-560. Cells lacking the adenylyl cyclase ACA can chemotax but cannot stream. Examination of a yellow fluorescent protein tagged ACA showed localisation to vesicles and the rear of the cell. This is necessary for cell streaming.

    • Inositol pyrophosphate mediate chemotaxis in Dictyostelium via pleckstrin homology domain-PtdIns(3,4,5) P3 interactions
    • Luo HR, Huang YE, Chen JC, Saiardi A, Iijima M, Ye K, Huang Y, Nagata E, Devreotes P, Snyder SH: Inositol pyrophosphate mediate chemotaxis in Dictyostelium via pleckstrin homology domain-PtdIns(3,4,5) P3 interactions. Cell 2003, 114:559-572. IP7/IP8 levels are raised during chemotactic stimulation. Loss of IP7/IP8 by deletion of IP6 kinase leads to early aggregation and hypersensitivity to cAMP. IP7 binds to PH domain containing proteins and competes with their binding to PIP3.
