Recently, another interesting class of oligofurans, namely long β-oligofurans, was reported (, T. Fallon, A. C. Willis, A. D. Rae, M. N. Paddon-Row, M. S. Sherburn, Chem. Sci. 2012, 3, 2133-2137). These compounds are nonplanar, and show no significant increase in conjugation with increasing length. Unfortunately, space constraints place them beyond the scope of this Minireview.
