    • The chemical shift changes of the protons on the host or guest after complexation could not be fully recovered. Three possible reasons are: (1) the solution was diluted; (2) the ionic strength of the solution increased; (3) different counterions are introduced, influencing ion pairing. These factors could change the chemical shifts and/or decrease the complexation percentage.
