    • This reassessment of the intracellular acetyl phosphate concentration demonstrates that the acetyl phosphate pool can be at least as large as that of ATP and thus provides strong biochemical support for the hypothesis that acetyl phosphate can serve as a phosphoryl donor in vivo.
