    • The color plot in Figure 1is given by the Lippman theory, where zero donor concentration is assumed and the bottom of the nanowire is assumed to be well grounded. As proved in the Appendix, the bottom reverse region does not affect the behavior in the upper part of the nanowire under a zero donor concentration assumption. In a theory about the equilibrium behavior of free charges, however, the substrate itself needs to be modeled along with the nanowire.
