    • The parallel magnetic field (B) couples to electrons' orbital motion and deforms the bands, resulting in an enhancement of the effective mass [PRBMDO 0163-1829 10.1103/PhysRevB.67.241309
    • The parallel magnetic field (B) couples to electrons' orbital motion and deforms the bands, resulting in an enhancement of the effective mass [E. Tutuc, S. Melinte, E. P. DePoortere, M. Shayegan, and R. Winkler, Phys. Rev. B PRBMDO 0163-1829 10.1103/PhysRevB.67.241309 67, 241309 (R) (2003)]. But, thanks to the narrow width of our QWs, we expect this mass enhancement to be small (<4% for B along [100] and 1% for B along [010], for the range of B <10 T used in our measurements). Moreover, we note that the data of Fig. 2 were taken with B along the [100] direction [see Fig. 1]. Data taken with B along [010] indicated that the measured g* m* does not depend on the orientation of B relative to the major axis of the occupied valley.
