The E-k dispersion relations are usually fitted with quadratic forms within the neighborhood of conduction band minima or valence band maximum. However, we notice that near the critical point of strain, the three lowest conduction bands with a single minimum change to those with double minima or vice versa, resulting in the E-k dispersion relations of these bands, are extremely nonparabolic near the valley minima. In such case, the E-k dispersion relations are fitted with eighth order polynomials.
