    • note
    • Longer reconstitution times resulted in a decrease in activity. When the reconstitution was performed at 4°C no enzymatic activity was observed. Also the use of other cofactor solvents such as DMF did not result in an increase of enzymatic activity, rather a precipitate indicative of denaturation was observed after 4 days.

    • note
    • When le was incubated with glucose oxidase (GOx) and acylase, two non-heme enzymes containing several lysine and histidine residues on their periphery, no peroxidase activity was observed. This implies that the enzymatic activity of le incubated with apo-HRP is not caused by the interaction of le with amino acid residues on the apo-HRP periphery.

    • note
    • The scattering may be also partially caused by the presence of some denaturated protein.
