Novel docosatrienes and 17S-resolvins generated from docosahexaenoic acid in murine brain, human blood and glial cells: Autacoids in anti-inflammation
-
Hong S, Gronert K, Devchand P, et al. Novel docosatrienes and 17S-resolvins generated from docosahexaenoic acid in murine brain, human blood and glial cells: autacoids in anti-inflammation. J Biol Chem 2003; 278: 14677-14687. This is the first detailed report of the docosatrienes, novel DHA-derived compounds containing conjugated triene structures, and the resolvins, formed de novo from DHA in human blood, glial cells, and also murine brain. These endogenous 17S-series resolvins have actions equivalent to the aspirin-triggered 17R-series resolvins reported in Ref. [11].
