    • The acquired hysteresis loops are so-called remanent hysteresis loops (see Ref. 6) which are different from the in-field hysteresis loops and which reveal the retention characteristics of the sample connected directly to the domain structure. The hump in the hysteresis loops shown in Fig. 1 is characteristic only to the e-beam patterned PZT and it may be connected either to the fringing fields or to a back-switching process. This anomaly and as well other anomalous hysteresis loops as presented in Ret. 6 are the subject of a further article.
