2 zinc binding sites in the hydrophobic core of thioredoxin by structure-based design
-
2 zinc binding sites in the hydrophobic core of thioredoxin by structure-based design. Biochemistry 1998, 37:8269-8277. Seven zinc binding core variants of thioredoxin were designed using DEZYMER and characterized for metal binding and protein stability. Because all are constructed within the same host protein, the study provides a direct investigation of protein metal-binding and the metal-mediated stabilization of proteins.
