Mol Cell Biol 1998, 18:4053-4069. A demonstration that Spa2p and Pea2p form a stable complex in vivo and that these proteins are codependent for normal polarized distribution at the cell surface (see also [20]). The authors further propose the existence of the 'polarisome', a 12S complex that likely contains the interacting proteins Spa2p, Pea2p, and Bud6p/Aip3p. Spa2p and Bud6p/Aip3p also interact with kinases of the Slt2p cell integrity and Fus3p-Kss1p mating MAP kinase pathways.

Mol Biol Cell 1997, 8:367-385. This study demonstrates SH3-domain-mediated interactions between CAP/Srv2p and Abp1p, and between Abp1p and Rvs167p (see also [46]). This sets the basis for an additional actin-polarizing complex that likely responds to Ras/adenylate cyclase-mediated signals.

Along with [61•], this paper identifies an essential role for yeast IQGAP in cytokinesis, and describes a yeast actin-contractile ring (also noted by E Bi and J Pringle, personal communication), suggesting that cytokinesis in yeast may occur by a mechanism very similar to that of animal cells. This report further implicates the yeast conventional myosin heavy chain Myo1p in contractile ring function.
