-
Datta P, Embree JE, Kreiss JK, Ndinya-Achola JO, Braddick M, Temmerman M, Nagelkerke NJD, Maitha G, Holmes KK, Piot P, Pamba HO, Plummer FA: Mother-to-child transmission of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 : report from the Nairobi study. J Infect Dis 1994, 170:1134-1140. The overall risk of HIV-1 transmission from 365 mothers to their 363 children was shown by serologic evidence to be 42.8%, and the percentage of HIV-1 infection attributable to breast feeding up to 15 months and beyond was 32%.
