    • 4, in a round-bottom flask was heated at 80°C until the reaction was complete as monitored by TLC. To the reaction mass was added water (25 mL) after cooling it to room temperature. The aqueous layer containing ionic liquid was decanted and washed with ether followed by drying under vacuum at 70°C for 5 h, which allowed recovery of the ionic liquid. To the insoluble crude mass on the other hand was added ethanol to allow products 8a-h & 9a-h to crystallize into pure form. The product was filtered. Here to isolate some of compounds chromatographic purification is required.
