Because some NMR spectra were difficult to analyse due to the presence of the PEG residue, a modified WATERGATE W5 sequence (M. Miu, X.-A. Mao, C. Ye, H. Huang, J. K. Nicholson, J. C. Lindon, J. Magn. Reson. 1998, 132, 125) was used to eliminate the PEG signal.
