    • y orbitals, these were ∼0.30 units lower in the nitrogen case compared to the oxygen case - a value similar to what may be observed in Table 2 from B3LYP calculations. We therefore conclude that the general conclusions, according to which the nitrido bridge has a two-fold effect in stabilizing lower-spin states and in delocalizing charge, are also supported by the BP86 results.
